Global Code of Ethics for Tourism follows increasing among European private sector

The French Travel Agents Association – SNAV, les Professionnels du Voyage – has signed the Private Sector Commitment to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. With this signing, SNAV  commits to promote sustainable tourism practices, with a special focus on socio-cultural and economic issues (2 February, Tenerife, Spain). SNAV represents more than 1,400 tourism enterprises in France, the first country among the  top 10 international tourism destinations in 2011.

This is the second European national private association that commits to follow the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism during this year. ANVR, the Netherlands Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators, signed the Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics on the 9th of January 2013, in Utrecht, The Netherlands, on behalf of its 1,400 member enterprises.

More than 2,800 European enterprises have joined the Code of Ethics during 2013.
