The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the Government of Ceará, Brazil, will organize in Fortaleza, Brazil, on November 28-29, a conference to discuss the role of tourism as an instrument of socio-economic development, poverty reduction and regional integration in the Americas.
The event will debate the relationship between the economic impact of tourism and social inclusion, regional integration, mega sporting events and natural and cultural heritage.
High profile speakers, including the President of the IDB, Luis Alberto Moreno, UNWTO Secretary-General, Taleb Rifai, and the Minister of Tourism of Brazil, Gastão Vieira, as well as other ministers of tourism from Latin America will participate to the event.
The conference, organized with the support of the Government of Brazil and the Banco do Nordeste (BNB), will be an occasion to strengthen multilateral and bilateral coordination and joint tourism development strategies in the region.
