PM4SD (Project Management For Sustainable Development) program will be offered for the first time in the United States, August 19-23 at the USF Patel College of Global Sustainability.
The partnership, started last year through the PM4SD Summer School in Iceland, aims to:

- select sustainable destinations and transformative projects to build case studies and faciliate experiential learning

The coming PM4SD training in Tampa consists of two parts, the Foundation program and the Practitioner Program.
The Foundation training is a three day intensive course designed to provide participants with knowledge and understanding to work effectively within a project management team to successfully deliver a sustainable tourism project. The foundation level training is a pre-requisite for the practitioner certification.
The Practitioner Training is a two day intensive course designed to equip participants with the skills to manage and deliver a sustainable projects using PM4SD.
A special case study will be presented by Dr. David Randle in the course on the new Villages Nature Paris, a joint venture with Pierre et Vacances and Euro Disney Paris. The project is a global model for sustainable tourism and we will examine the project management.
Last may David Randle and myself had a guided visit with the team of Villages Nature (opening in August), during which it was possible to discover the new holiday park and its sustainable concept combined with mass tourism.
Certificates for successful completion of the course are issued by AMPG International within 2 weeks of receipt of application.
