DG Enterprise and Industry just opened 2 calls for proposals in the tourism sector. Organisations are invited to submit a proposal in order to receive a grant, a direct financial contribution from the European Commission to support a specific action or project of a non-commercial nature, to cover eligible costs directly incurred by the beneficiaries.
Call for Proposal: Cultural Routes and Luxury Goods
This call for Proposals aims to create a Cultural Route showcasing one high-end product, either perfume, chocolate or jewellery. Its objective is to promote cooperation between tourism and the luxury goods industries.
The call for proposal aims at funding the development and promotion of a new European Route which visits at least 5 Member States (and/or other countries participating in COSME). The Route must showcase key steps of the value chain of either
These three high-end products have been selected on the basis of their economic potential and capacity to diversify the European tourism offer during the low/medium season. By further exploiting the global reputation of these industries, Europe can diversify and expand its tourism offer.
This project will familiarise tourists with the historical, cultural and industrial aspects of luxury goods, and also encourage both the tourism and luxury goods industries to think creatively about how they can reach new markets
Call for Proposal: Sustainable transnational tourism products
The main objective of this call is to strengthen competitiveness of the European tourism sector as well as its sustainability by encouraging diversification of the supply of tourist services and products.
The project proposals should aim at promoting sustainable transnational tourism products (such as e.g: routes, itineraries, trails, tourism offer…) in sport or wellness activities in relation to one of the following types of tourism: coastal or maritime or mountain or rural tourism.
